But DON'T just look at Amazon's direct price for a book they're selling, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS check used prices on their page. In college and grad school I saved $1000's just by checking Amazon and their used prices, you can even buy the book NEW sometimes for cheaper than both Amazon and use.
I use an example a book a friend just bought, J-Curve Exposure: Managing a Portfolio of Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds (The Wiley Finance Series)
As of 01/09/10, this book sells NEW on Amazon for $75.60, but used it's $67.94. Even better, buy it new through another vendor on Amazon and buy it for $66.83. Even with $4 shipping it's still cheaper.
Don't forget to SELL your textbooks from last semester on Amazon as well (make the books pay for themselves). I recommend you do it as quick as possible because authors like making new editions to steal your cash. Do it today!
